forgeman's thread has followed the R-01 since 2022: an Allwinner D1 (single in-order core at 1 GHz, minimal graphics) that a moderator compared to a Pentium 2 or 3, with 60-second boots, slow shutdowns and a GUI that only makes sense with fbterm or twm. tiniuclx's 2025 first impressions are kinder — basic browsing works, JavaScript-heavy sites do not, 66 % battery after four hours and hardly any heat.
Software: ClockworkOS R01 v1.3b (Linux 5.4.61) from ClockworkPi, Ruben_Pastor's tuned Ubuntu 22.04 image with large fonts, working audio, i3 and rofi (login cpi/cpi, hosted on a personal server and mirrors), and ylyamin's RT-Thread bare-metal port with a working MIPI DSI display and USB HID input. The core is out of stock at ClockworkPi; the directory lists it as sold out.
