Details
Carbon Computers (Fort Lauderdale, USA) lists the backplate on its Cyber uConsole page: CNC-machined anodised aluminium with an integrated heatsink, fan mounting and an included cooling fan, a magnetically removable battery cover, and room for a LiPo of up to about 60 × 100 × 9 mm; 18650 cells fit only with modifications and the CM5 is sourced separately. As of September 2026 the cover with fan is $299 and the STEP file $29 (a January 2026 thread quoted $399 with fan), with a stated lead time of 6+ weeks and a 15 % cancellation fee.
LRP_Slugs' July 2026 review called the finish 'very top tier premium' but found the battery-door magnets too weak — the door clacks and can fall off — and printed a 6.41 mm spacer frame to use 18650s (3MF shared in the thread). The same buyer's earlier thread documents an order placed on 1 June with no updates by 5 July, other customers waiting on STEP files or refunds, and the plate arriving in mid-July after the company reached out; a January buyer received the STEP file only after chasing.
