beams' Omega Chassis replaces the stock back with a modular assembly developed over eight months and six validation rounds: triple 18650 support (about 10,500 mAh) that also works with the HackerGadgets NVMe boards and the AIO V2 — or the stock battery board or a LiPo; active cooling that the thread says holds a CM5 at 45–55 °C under heavy load, with swappable fan covers; up to ten antenna mounting points (eight with the camera or microSD module); a multi-channel noise-cancelling microphone; and an optional Raspberry Pi Camera V3 or microSD slot, all inside the original footprint.
It is sold as design files with a build guide on jing.io (hzykiss paid £25.99). The 'Ultimate' build uses finished parts — trinity estimated close to $200 all-in — while the 'Essential' variant lets you print the plastics at home and caps the remaining CNC parts at about $45 plus a $6 heatsink. trinity also noted it mixes M2, M2.5 and M4 screws where the stock console uses only M4; beams later added silver and titanium finishes and a screwless battery cover.
