Asara's 2023 thread is where every antenna fix was worked out: the A-06 connects its antenna to the mainboard while the CM4 needs dtparam=ant2; a foil antenna stuck to bare metal barely works; the official Raspberry Pi and Adafruit flex antennas help but have nowhere to mount. The recipe most people settled on is T313C0mun1s7's — Futheda u.FL-to-RP-SMA bulkhead pigtails (≈ $7 for two), Eightwood 2.4/5 GHz RP-SMA whips (≈ $7 for two) and m3x's micro antenna mount with M4×8 screws in place of the shorter stock ones. USFrozen's iwconfig logs put an Adafruit antenna on foam tape outside the case at −68 dBm average where the stock antenna could not hold a connection.

packetwanderer's CM5 build tried Eightwood 2.15 dBi, Waveshare and official antennas with 15–20 cm RG178 leads and right-angle RP-SMA adapters. Do not split one u.FL feed into two antennas — Rex explains in Talos's thread why that makes reception worse.

Result≈ −68 dBm average with an external Adafruit antenna vs. a stock link that kept dropping (USFrozen)
